Technical Specifications

Inherent in the architecture of supermensa.org is the ability to leave comments. Should you choose to do so, your name, e-mail, and other information voluntarily presented will be publicly posted. By use of this system, you indemnify supermensa.org of any harm or action that results from your voluntary publication of said information.

Our servers may record the numerical Internet protocol (IP) address of the computer you are using; the browser software you use and your operating system; the date and time you access our site; and the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site. Legally priviledged materials and communication, and/or communication concerning an active ongoing law enforcement investigation will be kept confidential as required by law.

The supermensa.org site is first and foremost a nonprofit satirical web site. This means many things. It provides for certain protections under the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Each topic is explained below. This document may change without notice.

Each contributor of supermensa.org holds full rights and responsibilities for materials they personally publish via this supermensa.org web site. By use of this site, you accept and recognize this qualification and indemnify not only the owner of supermensa.org but also all other contributors to supermensa.org from any legal action.

Privacy

We've given you notice that any communication with us may be published. This is all we need to do, because legally it provides for consent on your behalf if you choose to communicate with us. This covers us in under state and federal privacy laws.

Law Enforcement

We are a First Amendment and PPA (42 USC § 2000aa) protected entity. However, if law enforcement provides us with a legal subpoena for information we have then we are going to give it to them. Why? Because that's the easiest thing for us to do. Do not expect us to go to court for you. You are not that important to us, quite frankly. Most importantly, don't do anything on supermensa.org that would cause law enforcement to issue us a subpoena.

Fair Use and Copyrighted Materials

Please refer to Title 17, Chapter 1, Section 107. It is quoted as follows

Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted 
work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other 
means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news  
reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or

The entire purpose of supermensa.org is to provide criticism and/or comment and thus make a satirical statement. Therefore we fall under the protections provided by federal law. We do not use publish material not otherwise freely available at the time of acquisition.

Defamation and harassment

If you feel as though someone has committed harassment or defamation against you - please pursue your remedies against that poster as supermensa.org is not responsible for their words. Conversely, you can edit and delete such content as this is, indeed, an open wiki. You have the power to make all the bad things go away.

Record Keeping
